Sunglasses After Dark by Nancy Collins
Rating:
This is a very good book. I first read it quite a few years ago but I fell in love with it. Just recently I found out that I am not the only one that love Miss Collins' work. I have found over two hundred web pages just about her first book in the series, Sunglasses After Dark. The story is about a vampire named Sonja Blue. She was once a spoiled little rich girl who took a wrong turn in life and was turned into a vampire but not by her choice. She is also very unusual because the vampires in the story are susceptible to sunlight but she isn't. The reason that she isn't has something to do with the way that she became a vampire. I love this book. There are other very interesting Characters in the book including an ex-PI named Palmer. He has an interesting past of his own including the fact that he just got out of prison. All in all this is a very good book and I would recommend it to anyone that likes diferent types of books. It is not on the morbid side like some of Anne Rice's work but it is not a jovial book either. It has both comedy and tragedy in it, which makes it an all around good book to read. You can get the book Sunglasses After Dark by itself or you can get it in a compilation with its sequel. It may not still be on the shelves in some areas but you can find it if you're willing to dig!
